August 19, 2023 - Carafe(d) and consumed over seven hours.

    Still youthful in appearance.
    Spicy, black cherry nose.
Thick, and unctuous. Well balanced. Loads of dark fruit. Some Christmas cake. Medium finish.
I love this wine. Case worthy!

February 17, 2023 - Oddly tastes younger than the '16. Very fine pure Syrah fruit that shows none of the pepper of a cooler climate or the funk of The Rocks. Its rich purity was all primary and we didn't leave any around to see if a few hours would show added complexity.

March 8, 2021 - Washington State Blind Tasting (Grapes & Grains, Temecula, CA): Tasted blind. Correctly identified as Syrah.

This does not suffer from a lack of color - a teeth-staining youthful, deep purple color. The sappy raspberry, black plum fruit shows vanilla, cocoa dust, and Asian spice notes from the oak, dried currant, pepper, and fresh violets. Long finish, striking a balance of fresh acidity and chewy tannin.

February 14, 2021 - Opened, decant and consumed over 5 hours (more time warranted)
Deep, rich, dark burgundy in color. Full bodied. High alcohol.
Sweet, creosote, dark jammy nose. Fruit leather. All spice, vanilla and oak.
Massive at this youthful stage. Jammy gobs of dark fruit. Medium plus finish. Menthol and eucalyptus overtones on the last glass. Fantastic bones. This will age well. I'm going to buy some more. Good QPR. Punches above it weight class.

    Burgoo delivery

August 27, 2018 - Mistakenly brought this to the restaurant instead of the '14. Was pleasantly surprised at how accessible this was. I'm not saying it should be opened yet, but if you screw up like me, don't fret and curse under your breath, enjoy a wonderful wine that will only get better with more time in the bottle. (Drink) or hold.
