February 19, 2024 - Decanted 3 hours. Upon decanting strong deep ruby color w/strong blackberry aroma. Flavor of soft lead pencil, tart plums & blackberries w/good balanced legs. Finish of light menthol and oak. very nice w/grilled Lamb Chops

November 10, 2023 - Needs air. But then…. Not bad at all. Much more Margauxesque than anticipated. White flowers over the truffled black currant. Fruit is a little thin but it is in a really good spot now and should improve over the coming years. Nothing for the super long haul though

September 29, 2023 - Pop n pour. Would have benefited from some time in decanter but a lovely drop all the same. Look forward to tasting the balance of my bottles over the next few years.

October 24, 2022 - Don't know why this wine isn't getting more recognition? Maybe drunk too young? At 6 years, this one is just starting to show, after a two hours decant. But it's convincing. Signature style St. Estephe, still slightly holding back but with some coercing tends to demonstrate wonderful ripe aromas of forest berries, currants and blueberries. Crisp yet ripe, can almost get a refreshing scent of morning dew on the fruit and leaves. It's starting to show a noticeable cigar box aroma, oak characteristics on the dry and savory side wonderfully supporting the primaries. Otherwise, showing quite young still. I would say, drink this wine from 10 years onwards. Do yourself a favor and get a couple bottles of a great vintage and keep them up your sleeve if you're in a pinch for a great value bottle that's going to impress most, if not everyone.

June 11, 2022 - Descriptors from prior note essentially the same - add in lead pencil and menthol to the nose and less smoke; palate a little rounder with red fruits dominate. Somewhat flat and uninspired experience overall. Maybe in a dumb phase? Great with grilled fillets, but not nearly as compelling as a prior experience.
