Palate > Sappy, ripe black fruit. Med+ intensity. Balance is on the firm, linear side.

September 21, 2019 - Incense, smoke, licorice, wet earth and ripe. dark cherries are all over the place here. The wine is ripe, fleshy and round with a silky, polished, espresso, vanilla and plum finish. Give it a few years for the oak to integrate and this will a very nice treat.
February 25, 2019 - UCGB tasting Bordeaux 2016 (Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.): Dark and red berries, firm acidity, sticky tannin, a firm dose of oak and cherry yoghurt. 90+
February 25, 2019 - Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Beurs van Berlage / Café De Klepel): The nose is quite closed, but the palate is showing well, with lovely fruit and freshness, tension and balance.
February 25, 2019 - The 2016 vintage UGCB tasting in Amsterdam 2/25/2019; 2/25/2019-2/27/2019 (Amsterdam): Maybe not showing the concentration of the '15, but again a lovely wine with soft fruit, a juicy taste, sufficient complexity and a good finish.
January 21, 2019 - Zachys Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2016 (New York City, NY): I am neutral to this one. Frankly I have never had a Dassault. Seems like a value oriented wine with some earthy quality. This and not as viscous as I would have expected but the presence of dark cherry and prune counters my impressions and makes me scratch my head about this wine.
I think that this is a sleeper tonight amidst a grouping of simply great wines.
June 10, 2017 - Here we have some freshness, at least - getting it back. The tannins are not as refined as either of the Canons; but the wine has sap and structure. Barrel aging will soften it. Not bad. 89-91
April 29, 2017 - Round, ripe juicy berries, licorice, fresh brewed espresso, plum and dark chocolate create the bouquet. In the mouth, the wine is lush, soft and round with loads of dark red sweet fruits, cocoa, licorice and coffee bean. Drink it young or age it for a few years.
