June 15, 2023 - Blackish ruby color very young and less open than the 2015 very tight. Decanted and drank over two hours. Nose of perfumed cassis, sweet tobacco and dark berries. Medium to full bodied, solid structure and built for the long haul finishes long, dusty and tannic. Revisit in 5 years.

April 10, 2023 - No notes taken. I only got a tiny sip of this, so this is in no way a comprehensive review but as it showed excellent, I still wanted to record it. This is another proof that the 2016 is a fantastic vintage, probably the best one in decades. What is true for the vintage, is true for this wine: A good level of complexity, high precision and purity, the right level of ripeness, high freshness and luxurious tannins, and of course the most beautiful balance. While some other 2016 might have closed down, the Lascombes, as is often true with Margaux wines, is open for business from an early age on. Easily 93+ pts.

Decanting: Not decanted, no extensive decanting needed.

February 8, 2023 - Pronounced nose intensity with black fruits, black currant, toast, spices, vanilla. Medium+ acidity and high tannin. Tannin is velvety.

September 25, 2022 - Aromatic, big nose, slightly inky, fresh, blue and black berries, slightly cedary, nascently floral. Obviously still with oak to integrate which will take some time but it's balanced nicely and I think ultimately this will come good.

September 21, 2019 - Round, fleshy, ripe and with a strong espresso and smoke character to the ripe, dense, dark fruits, give this concentrated, lush round time in the cellar for everything to come together. Perhaps 10 years or more will be about right.

August 24, 2019 - Great Bordeaux 2016 Tasting: Drawing bouquet of riped plums and blackcurrants. Tasted black fruits, black cherries, riped plums, creme. Slightly austere. Not bad but I would give this at least 3 more years.

March 7, 2019 - Very intense, yet lacked definition. Not my style.
