April 25, 2024 - Not expressive, not a lot of fruit, not to strong. An elegant wine. I expected more. But there is still a lot of acidity and tannins to save for at least 6 more years, so let’s try then!
February 19, 2024 - Soft tannins. Soft red fruit light acidity. Can stand a few years in the bottle before revisiting. Also getting some dark fruit on the palette. Would’ve been better with food but dEf ok to drink on its on. I gave it a few hours after opening before having a go at it. Nice wine all in all.
January 4, 2024 - Still young but showing strong promise.
May 13, 2023 - Coming along nicely - drank on opening, then decanted and finished 4 hours later. It's actually a bit more fun on opening and more serious later on. Fairly austere in the mouth - the fruit is all black and all business. Cassis and blackberry. Earthy with some stale tobacco. On the finish it's blackberry and some black raspberry flavoring, earth and black licorice. Sitting there drinking it I thought "I should have a medium rare rib steak right about now."
April 29, 2023 - This one beeds a bit more time. Nice though well balanced, full body and smooth
March 15, 2023 - Excellent wine with good depth but quite approachable at present. Would drink over the next 5-6 years.
November 16, 2022 - This needs many many more years but has good potential.
October 31, 2022 - This is just a luscious wine. Jammy with some pretty good tannins. I decanted the 1st half of the bottle on day one. Definitely life to this bottle. Too early to be opening, I think this wine will continue to get sexier.
Day 2: The wine decanted in the bottle. The tannins were still present, yet softened. Looking forward to this one maturing. Look to open next one in 3 years.
October 12, 2022 - Nice and smooth. Clearly good quality but unremarkable and would prefer many other wines to this at the price. Enjoyed with family.
July 2, 2022 - Still young but drinkable now. Tannins are there for sure, but pleasant/integrated in a good way. Full bodied with good intensity, length & complexity. Aired for 2 hrs. Today’s pairing: Grilled T-Bone steak with homemade Béarnaise. What a pair - just wonderful together and perfect start on summer vacation ☀️
55% Cab, 39% Merlot, 6 % Perdit Verdot. Blackberry, plum, oak, cedar, licorice.
ABV: 13%, RS: < 3 g/l, TA: 5.7 g/l
Entry level (3rd wine) Châteu Latour.
