May 16, 2023 - Encore en pleine forme.

November 15, 2022 - A surprisingly sumptuous nose. Black cherry, leather, forrest floor all perfume the glass. Fruit, tannins, and acidity are all still lively and balanced on the palate. Red and black fruit fade to a slight herbaceousness. This still has a few years left in it, but i wouldn’t wait too long.

March 9, 2015 - I managed to buy this Haut Marbuzet vintage very cheaply so that was a good start. There was more Merlot in the 2002 than some other years and the fruit was, therefore, not exclusively black. Decanted for 3 hours, more acidity than I prefer and very medium bodied but the palate and finish were fine. The French like this vineyard more than others and I am with them.

December 23, 2012 - Nice aroma's of dark ripe fruit, however lots of acidity on the palate, lack of fruit and bitter aftertaste, very disappointing

February 14, 2009 - A disappointment. A bit too much acidity and too little fruit. For comparison, Meyney 2002 was much better.

November 21, 2008 - Irish Wine Board Bordeaux Tasting (Irish Wine Board): Circa €50 per bottle. Not decanted. Noticeably younger appearance than the two preceding wines: a deep violet colour, very slightly pinking at the edge. A nose of leather and soft dark fruits, somewhat muted but noticeably a more modern style than the others. Smoky (i.e. oaky) attack on entry; softer midpalate than the others (more Merlot); plummy. Soft, long finish, not very noticeably tannic. Good plus, but will it last? (15-16/20)

    17 (€25)
