December 29, 2023 - Meaty, fairly dry, paired well with meat, would not drink by itself.
December 17, 2023 - Outstanding
February 26, 2023 - Had after a 2014 akasha and this was its equal. Wonderful right now. Go for it
January 6, 2023 - Short decant. Dark ruby. Black and blue fruits, cassis. Powerhouse of a wine. Full body, concentrated, rich with firm acidity. Grippy tannins and a long finish. Minor alcoholic burn.
January 14, 2022 - opening well with decant but young still
February 10, 2021 - Nose is a little subdued, mild alcohol burn, blackberry. Full body, moderate acidity, bold tannins that linger in the finish. I agree that it has probably reached its peak.
October 31, 2020 - Agree with the descriptions here, especially from the last 6 months, although I am not convinced this has a lot of years left.
Enjoyed the bottle we opened but both felt it may have passed it's prime. Lovely fruit, good integration, but a tad lifeless. Maybe the bottle? We'll check again as this is the year we went crazy on Torrin and have 7 more with which to experiment.
July 21, 2020 - balanced, ready.
June 25, 2020 - This wine needs 2+ hours on Air. Big tannic monster. Pair with food.
November 13, 2019 - Opened in the bottle for 3-4 hours. Definitely an interesting only in Paso blend. Dark fruit centric with a really fresh cooling mineral element running through the center. A nice smoked earth quality from the Syrah adds depth while the Cabernet provides some nice sweetness and tannin/structure. Can’t pull out the Tannat other than adding density and color. As expected it’s approachable and really good. Heavy but in Torrin style elegant and fresh. Might need another year or so to really come together.
