January 1, 2023 - Consistent as my last notes. I have had a severe rash and hives from this lot of wine. Mysterious.

April 30, 2022 - This is the best Bryant Estate I have ever tasted - or perhaps it is the Bryant I have tasted it at the best time - but it is simply incredible, with impeccable fruit, structure, energy, and balance. The refinement and power intermix here, with stunning (and delicious) results. I tasted this on the same evening as a 2009 Colgin Cariad, which seemed less full and more simple in comparison (and it was neither in an absolute / non-comparative sense). This Bryant - what a wine.

Garnet in color and medijm jn body, the wine offers evocative aromas of boysenberry, pencil shavings, espresso, sage, and ground pepper (like ground with a pestle). The flavors are beautifully integrated, with notes of blackberry, cocoa, gravel, and tapenade, with a finish that defies gravity: yes, it is a rich and full wine, but the acidity and structure elevate to the ethereal. Decant an hour, but this is still alive hours after opening. 15% alcohol. Made by Marc Aubert. Drink in next 3-5 years (read: no rush).

February 11, 2021 - This bottle was even better than the last, which I really enjoyed. This showed the best of Napa and why some of these Cult wines have gotten so popular. Rich cherry liqueur, cedar, cigar wrapper, stewed prunes. Really lovely, dynamic stuff with great balance, this is a very good wine that is squarely in the middle of its drinking window right now.
