October 16, 2020 - First open, tasted and smelled like fruity jam, wine decanned, after 30 minutes perfume comes out, and fruitiness gone, it's OK to drink now but best to drink in 8 to 10 yrs

91-92 pts

May 1, 2020 - Quintessentially Gevrey, with a nose of sauvage, dark fruits and earth. There are some engaging florals too, with the scent of fresh rose petals. It is deep and penetrating, with rich fruit flavours. Despite the wine's size and power it is light on its feet, gliding across the palate and then fanning out on the long finish. Great drive and energy.

September 7, 2019 - Rather accessible served with a one hour decant this went very well with some lamb chops and truffle gnocci. A less sauvage wine (i.e. hypothetical mid way between typical Gevrey and Vosne) that I had expected, nice refinement, not overworked. Lovely deep layered cherry fruit with a touch of rose pedal. A class act of a village wine for sure where nice berries went into the wine speaking for itself. Should have a long life ahead and wouldn't be surprising if this will close down a bit in the next year(s) before blossoming again. Today it was drinking superbly.

    April 4, 2019 - Tasted at a 2016 vintage tasting.

    Colour: Intense dark red.

Bouquet: Med+ intense w. animal, cherries, plums, sous-bois, herbs, tar, liquorice, chocolate.

Palate: Med(+) acid - pure - well integrated tannins already, stony and minerality. Med+ body but still pure, elegant and strightforward. Very good.

May 4, 2017 - Complex nose of rose petal, pomegranate, and intense berry fruit. It is deep and stony with a dense, sweet heart. The finish is chalky.
