June 6, 2023 - Dark black cherry and graphite on the nose. Just opened and going fairly strong. And black cherry fruit across the palate as well. Length on the back.
March 18, 2023 - Ruby color and Purple hues, black cherry aromas and vanilla Smokey undertones come out in the bouquet , seductive texture, dark fruit flavors of plums, emergence of dark chocolate hints has a well-balanced structure, firm tannins. The wine is developing nicely, will check back in a couple years! 53% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc
March 7, 2022 - Garnet red colour. Berry fruit and aniseed nose. Sweet red currant on palate. Medium bodied, soft tannins with shortish finish. A pleasant, easy drinking but not particularly remarkable Bordeaux wine.
September 20, 2021 - Less distinct than I remembered, nice red fruits but a bit of a hollow mid-palate. Perfectly drinkable but not remarkable.
October 4, 2020 - On the lighter side but well-balanced. It’s good but not distinct. Mostly red fruits. Ready.
July 5, 2020 - As others have noted, a tad austere and lean, dark fruits and aniseed prominent. Leather and toffee on the nose. Medium bodied with tannins coming to the forefront as it opened up. Enjoyable but at NZ $50, overall not sure it represents particularly good value. Needs time however.
March 11, 2020 - tight now & a bit lean, needs 3 years to soften tannins. Drink 2023-26.
November 10, 2019 - Drank over three days from decanter. Medium to full body wine. Aromatics of black fruit with tinge of licorice. Tannins very apparent to the palate on the first day with a distinctive mineral, almost salty finish. Left the decant alone for a day coming back to day three with diminished tannins and minerality, leaving dark fruit, leather and anise. Very enjoyable with balsamic vinaigrette, especially the third day. Good value, M-F wine with dinner, give it a long decant.
July 17, 2019 - Lots of anise and dark berry fruit, tannins still quite tight on the finish but lots of minerality as well. Quite what I like in this price range.
March 8, 2019 - Fresh, currant-filled, steely, mineral nose. Taut - not exactly lean but lithe. A little on the stern end of the spectrum, but in my book there's a place for that.
