November 24, 2017 - Barrel tasting at Domaine Pierre Damoy (Gevrey Chambertin): Barrel tasting at domaine. 2 barrels in 2016. A wine Pierre says is "made for me, by me" though they only open 3-4 bottles per year at the domaine for personal consumption. The regular Beze tasted just before was far more expressive. The reserve is dense, brooding and closed in at the moment. There is an epic combination of richness, structure and intense spice going on. Cleary going to need some time. I imagine this will equal or best the regular CdB, but hard to ascertain right now.
