    December 15, 2023 - This is a great wine and in its prime. I was waiting for an opportunity to P&P and I enjoyed this with some ravioli with black truffle arrabbiata and it was special. Unlike other Brunellos it holds up and delivers. It is yummy. Black cherry, spice and tobacco notes are front row and center. Ready to go after a pull. Good stuff Maynard.

    September 18, 2022 - Decanted for an hour. Feeling a bit too young, not hugely expressive on the nose, red fruit, sour cherries, a bit of tomato paste. The palate shows tons of tannins, dried cherries, austere at the moment. I'm thinking this needs a lot more time in the cellar, will leave the second bottle for many more years. The potential is there!
    Edit: with a great lasagne the wine opened very nicely, the acidity matched the tomato sauce, the tannins tamed by the cheese. The wine is very good with food!

    September 2, 2021 - 比较浓的黑樱桃、黑莓和李子等黑果,还有点红果,比较流畅,中间有点空。后段有皮革、点点带着湿泥的菌菇、黑胡椒,稻草灰,中后段的一点水果蛋糕、香草奶油带有些许团块感,差点影响流畅度。入口没有嗅觉那么浓郁,有点平,丹宁不强,也不太细腻,起初有点散乱,后来呈现细粉感。黑果、干樱桃、李子干,还带一点点杏青和醋栗,中后段有比较重的菌菇,林地气息,些许皮革和黑胡椒带来一点辛辣,收尾有点甜和苦。 放到晚上,释放出了紫罗兰柔嫩的气息,和黑色果味交织。后段的肉质感和香料粉结合。口感上酱味有点浓,气味好过口味。87-88/100

    July 8, 2018 - Tar, rubber, black berries and fine oak in the nose. The mouth starts fruity, structured with fine acidity. This is now very good but will improve.

    December 9, 2017 - Red cherry, floral and earth on the nose. Between medium and full bodied (14.5% ABV) with bright red cherry upfront, adding some hints of raspberry as it shows some depth through the middle and then some red berry notes towards the back. Good structure; both acidity and tannin based and solid finish with iron, tobacco, leather and earth notes. The mid-body is already showing some roundness and initial integration which serves to show off the fruit nicely. This is still quite structured now, but didn't have quite the depth I was hoping for from this vintage. Should certainly improve over the next few years with many years beyond. Probably worth revisiting in a couple of years as I expect it should show more complexity and integration.
