December 19, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours. Tons of energy - so kept in the decanter longer than anticipated. Aromas of cherries, raspberries and spices. Spicy plums and bitter cherries on the high-toned palate with lots of tannins and a splash of acid. Long, spicy and somewhat tannic finish lay expectations for further improvement and refinement
August 27, 2023 - Continues to drink well. Needs a bit of time to open up. Very smooth with well integrated tannins. The drinking window to 2025 is reasonable and the wine may continue to drink well past that date. No rush.
December 10, 2022 - Medium tannins, a nice equilibrium, very different from Bordeaux which was the goal, with a general nice quality.
Could be still kept but nicely opened now.
Interesting
September 3, 2022 - On the light side for a Gigondas in my opinion. Nice berry flavors. Very smooth and fully integrated. No signs of ageing at this point but I don't believe it will improve going forward. The drinking window appears to be accurate. I plan to consume my remaining bottles over the next two years.
October 3, 2021 - This wine continues to improve. A bit lighter than I would prefer from the southern Rhone but bright fruit, integrated tannins, good acidity and a long finish make this wine very enjoyable. No real signs of ageing at this point so the 2025 drinking window looks good.
June 21, 2021 - This wine is ageing well. Has gained weight and depth of flavor over time. The drinking window seems realistic so still several years of development ahead. Very nice and I expect further improvement over time.
February 3, 2021 - A bit thin. I was expecting a heavier wine with much more flavor. Will wait a couple of years to see if some more bottle age leads to an improvement.
October 17, 2020 - Bra, men fortfarande lite sträv.
March 13, 2020 - Strong vanilla aftertaste. A bit acidic but smooth finish
December 10, 2018 - Not to keen on this wine. It has all the flavors I like from Southern Rhöne - flavors like herbs, spices, dark red fruit etc. But to me this wine somehow appears a bit thin and greenish - almost like branches. Maybe this wine just needed some air first? Besides that I still think there are some qualities to this wine. Good acidity combined with a long finish still makes this wine somewhat interesting. But not a wine I would recommend seeking out
