August 23, 2020 - Sunday hangout (socially distanced) (Chicago, IL): This is one of those nose better than palate kind of wines. Very 2015 syrah -- ripe black fruit, but counterweighted by olives, brine, and a bit of smoke. The palate is probably in a bit of an awkward phase right now -- it's a little burly and not showing very much complexity, but I suspect time will be this wine's friend.

February 11, 2019 - Dark in color, the licorice, smoke, oak, wet earth and pungent, red fruit aromatics are already popping! On the palate, the wine is full bodied, sensuous, richly textured, deep, fresh and long in the finish. This beauty has great aging potential too.
