March 24, 2019 - Man I just don't get Grange, and I really want to. Pulled this 21 year old out of the cellar to give it a try. It just seems so average to me. It is dark and big boned, with plenty of dark red and black fruit. There is a strong -not spoofy, if that's possible, here- oak and vanilla wood perception. There is a strong saline perception in this wine as well. It is quite drinkable, as it is smooth, and the fruit has at least a little coolness to it. It's just meh at best. Has Grange always been like this?

February 14, 2019 - Perfection in the glass, even better than the last two bottles! Was perfect with Steak Diane. Still dark garnet, completely opaque, the slightest hint of brown at the edges. Aromas of red raspberries, blackberries, with American oak vanilla notes. On the palate, full-bodied but round and elegant, not a fruit bomb. Rich, concentrated, viscous, lots of smooth balanced fruit with the acid and tannin. Slightly hot on the late palate and aftertaste due to 15% alcohol, but amazing length. This will last for years. We'll open one a year to see how it evolves.

September 7, 2018 - 90 min decant. Nothing to not like about this wine. Pretty elegant for an Aussie Shiraz. But could be even more expressive and hopefully will improve with age. Go for longer decant time next bottle.

June 27, 2018 - CHE96. Blend of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14% alcohol. Untypical light and elegant for Australian wine. Blueberry, blackberry, plum, coffee, fine tannins and good balance without excessive sweetness.

June 11, 2018 - So smooth, but yet with lots of vigor. Not too much terciary development. This could age for another 10-20 years. At a perfect point right now.
