March 19, 2020 - Very nice balance of acid and sweetness. Stone fruits light lemon citrus. Enjoyed with a medium spiced curry.

October 30, 2019 - Previously tasted almost two years ago at the winery, this was my first from bottle. Shows best on the warmer side where the fruit can truly express itself. Peach, pineapple, floral and mineral notes on the nose. Medium bodied with soft peach and more tart pear upfront. Gains some roundness and depth through the middle and then shows its best right before the finish. There's a depth here, but also a completeness as the tart citrus notes and acidity come in to balance the richer mid-body. Blends nicely into the acidity and mineral driven finish. Feels like it needs just a bit more time for the richer fruit notes, the more tart fruit notes and the structural acidity to all come together in the best harmony. Next bottle for me will be Fall 2020.

November 17, 2017 - Tasted at the winery. Very expressive on the nose, noticeably more so than the 2016 and showing peach, floral and mineral notes. Medium bodied with orchard fruit upfront (mainly peach and pear) and adds tropical notes through the middle (more so than is typical for the HJW, but in line with the warm vintage). Not quite the level of complexity or mid-body richness of the 2016, but the structural acidity, mixed with the tropical notes provide good contrast as well as backbone. Citrus, acidity and minerals mark the finish. Should improve with another few years.

November 2, 2017 - decent heft here, balanced with a stony and acid cut.. more structure than flavor. finish is creamy and round.

September 4, 2017 - Finger Lakes Vacation 2017; 9/4/2017-9/8/2017 (Finger Lakes, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. Cold slate stone on the nose. A little austere with high acid. A great cleansing mineral flavor with surprisingly good persistence. Old school and technically flawless. Lacking complexity at this stage, but the best is to come in 2-5 years. "Very good," 89+/100.
