April 25, 2021 - Wow, an absolutely glorious btl of wine. On the.nose: soft cola, blueberry, wild strawberry, a hint of young coconut, fantastic spice, freshly cut savory herbs...stunning nose. On the palate: fantastic acidity, crushed herbs, wild strawberry, crushed seeds, spice...soft tannin on the fantastically elegant finish. Young, but so much complexity and elegance. Unbelievably good.

October 25, 2020 - This is very delicious, but i’m not sure it’s where it needs to be QPR-wise. Too expensive for what it is.

May 15, 2019 - Dark fruit and a whiff of something caramel-like on the nose, lots of stuffing for Spatburgunder in terms of body, but the tannins are rounded enough that they don't get in the way of enjoyment. More serious stuff than your average German pinot, debatable as to whether it is worth the rather hefty tarrif.

April 23, 2019 - A private dinner (Restaurant De Scheepskameel, Amsterdam, NL): Hundsrück is the “Filetstück” of the Centgrafenberg. Amazing finesse, such fragrance and subtlety of expression, rosehip and honey and undergrowth, silky and seamless, cool freshness, very gentle tannins, perfectly judged smoky oak, wonderful line and length. Burgundian style, top-notch Volnay comes to mind.

October 13, 2018 - A good friend opened this for pre dinner drinks, PnP. Loads of fruit on the nose and palate. Still youthful - while enjoyable, clearly made me wonder if a much longer decant would have brought out some of the very stunning aromatics which others have alluded to, and an even bigger question is how 5-10 additional years of bottle age will change the palate. Didn't quite detect the tannic backbone which might support such aging (and I have yet to get much experience aging Spätburgunders) - am very curious and would welcome comments from members who have successfully done this and were rewarded for their patience!
