March 31, 2024 - Last bottle. Vibrant colour green gold. great clarity. Subtle but intense . Layers unfolding constantly. Remarkable vigour. Mid sweet with great balance. Special wine.

August 25, 2023 - Barolo Dinner (Mathilde Bistro - SF): A much better bottle than 4 years ago. Complex, bright, savory nose. Hits the tongue with vibrant acidity, showing a complex array of burnt caramel, lemon peel, coffee, toffee, grass, frangipane and vanilla bean. Has dropped a fair bit of its sweetness, and comes across as more savory than fruity. A cerebral wine. A lovely antidote to cleanse the palate of barolo tannins at the end of the night.

August 25, 2023 - Barolo Dinner (Mathilde, San Francisco): Aromatic, coffee, burnt caramel, complex aromatics; palate has some significant sweetness still, complex caramel, burnt coffee notes; finish is medium-long. This has improved since my last taste, lovely Climens. 92

July 15, 2023 - I thought this was really spectacular and, surprisingly to me, every bit the equal of the 83 Yquem (perhaps superior). While the Yquem was bolder, the Climens was equally complex and perhaps more spherical in its balance. At peak and really lovely.

July 14, 2023 - 23rd of 24 halves, pnp, perfect level, cork soaked and worked - old gold, nuanced, apricot element more diminished than hitherto; still fresh and ridiculously long and complex, though beginning to lose mid palate sweetness, downside, drink up in this format. F+ (18) formerly at least VF.
