August 17, 2019 - Meursault Perrieres blind tasting 1988-2011: Right of the bat this wine left now doubt how good it was. Complex nsoe of fresh flowers, lemon curd, even some cranberries and barnyard funk that you would normally associate with a red Burg. Very grand

August 25, 2016 - Epic Champagne dinner (Taberna, Bukit Merah): Beautiful. There was such a sweet fragrance about the nose on this wine, with shade of cream and butter drizzled over a core of sweet yellow fruit, melons and a kiss of butterscotch. An arresting bouquet. The palate was a study in purity and finesse, an effortlessly elegant mouthful of butter, cream and stone fruit, giving way into a deeper note that reminded me somehow of Chinese bird's nest steamed with rock sugar. All this was wonderfully integrated, with a lovely beam of subtle but insistent acidity leading the wine into long, minerally finish. Perfectly whole, and wonderfully complete - this was a beautiful wine.

May 2, 2016 - Soft vanilla notes, light petrol, leading to apple tart and nutty notes on the nose. Advanced and with a flat and low acid profile this had enough fruit left on the palate and a general smoothness to be appealing. Pecans and almonds on the long finish. 93-94

March 20, 2015 - 88 Lafon Perriers. Speaking of letting wine sit. I wasn't going to post this because when i did open this wine it was just dead. Just a deep golden color scared me. Nose was slightly corky sweet. It was just flabby sloppy on palate with some bretty off flavors. No acid to speak of. I wanted to pour out. It was a gamble buying this but I've had some trans-formative experiences with this same case lot. This one just didn't do it. So I put a cork in it and tried it today. Much better experience. The nose never came around. its still carmelized corn with slight corky sweetness. off putting. However on the palate its tight clean grippy with mouth puckering acid. actually decently enjoyable now.

November 30, 2014 - Rare treat to drink perrieres. This is much more flinty than charmes. It has more aromatic sulfur matchsticks on the nose. Wine is sweet with high acids and clean lengthy finish. It's not dead by any measure. This is on day 2 since opening.

February 14, 2014 - deep oxidized nose very golden in color. doesn't have the freshness but minerality still alive. a heavy wine better as it opens up.

January 4, 2013 - Now that's something. Actually needed a bit of time in the glass to come together. Fabulous nose of almonds, marzipan, white flowers and a touch of citrus. Palate doesn't disappoint. Very long. Yet another reminder of how fantastic aged white burgundy was before the curse of the POX.
