March 21, 2023 - dark ruby purple; raspberry, rhubarb, sarsaparilla, mushrooms, pine needles, lavender, cedar: full bodied, surprisingly structured, good acidity despite ripeness, 14.6% ABV; made from 100% Pinot Noir by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, sourced from estate vineyard just a few miles from Pacific Ocean, aged in 33% new French oak from multiple coopers; $75

February 4, 2023 - This was fine, but underwhelming to my taste. The flavor profile is solid but there was a bit of effervescence that I and others in the group found a bit offputting. This calmed down after a few hours so I would definitely favor opening for at least 2 hours before drinking and probably letting it breathe in a decanter for that entire time. Will update when we do that with our next bottle.

December 4, 2022 - 2 hrs ox and served with spaghetti with meat sauce. Nose was not very pronounced, with soft fruits and maybe a light touch of lilac. Drinking well with lots of fresh berry fruits and maybe a bit of tea on the long finish. Well balanced for fruity acidity and smooth tannins. Trying the 2016 next and will compare.

November 5, 2022 - Pine and underbrush aromas, sappy cherry fruit, earthy, with a spicy finish. Didn't decant but there was a decent amount of sediment in the glass.
