In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; people speak the truth when they are drunk), bottles #1,778-82 of my cellar sacrifices. I have gotten behind in my postings and I need to catch them up, hence the 5 wines this time. Rating-wise, the Austin Hope Cabernet and Laurent Pinot were outstanding, with the Barbaresco, Merlot and Grenache behind them. October 11, 2020 - My 2nd and last btl, the nose is absolutely spot on,
But itโs a mess from then on-tart unbalance fruit no finish, this is a shame.
Nothing will bring this back to the table.
Not flawed just not well made.
Not a re buy.
Donโt drink unless your on a deserted island.
August 31, 2020 - Hard to explain this thing,
It just never came together for me, seemed a bit itโs past prime, tired is the word.
And tired wine is not a good thing!
Drink now.
January 29, 2019 - Peppery, yet well balanced. Looked unfliltered. Good drink.
July 17, 2018 - Still very elegant and well balanced. Not possessing the complexity of red burgundy, but lovely and understated pinot.
June 2, 2018 - PnP. Light ruby in color. Nose of strawberries and some baking spice. Tart cherries on the palate with a good amount of acidity on the finish. Surprising amount of sediment in the bottle for a Pinot.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Burgundy glass at 62ยฐF.
May 19, 2018 - Seemed a bit softer than previous bottle but lovely fruit and balance.
March 12, 2018 - Very nice Sonoma Coast PN with an elegant balanced of red fruit, baking spices, cedar and mild aciidity. Lighter style. Big fan of Fort Ross/Seaview area Pinot Noir.
March 1, 2018 - Balanced wine with good concentration of cranberry and other light red fruit. Good lightness and acidity. This was a bargain on WTSO and I would buy more if it showed up again.
