November 25, 2023 - Ageing so well. Brought to friendsgiving.

July 22, 2023 - Earth and mushroom. Good complexity at this price point.

August 7, 2022 - Fell just short of living up to expectations. All afternoon breathing and with dinner it started out as a fruit bomb, but smoothed out during dinner and afterwards, more elegance and fewer rough edges. Definitely a Barossa Shiraz (varietally correct), but the fruit could have stood to be just a click more restrained to allow it to fully shine. Undecided on repurchase of other vintages.

    July 3, 2022 - Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes
    Winery: Torbreck Varietal: Shiraz/Syrah
    Area/Appellation: Australia/Barossa Valley
    Vintage: 2016. Price:$15.99 Jack’s N Maize Road
Color: dark ruby w/just a slight hint of purple Legs: medium
Nose: sage, black pepper, dark plums, smoked meat, blackberries
Palate: cassis, blackberry, black plums, pepper, barberry, white pepper,
Finish: Cassis, blackberries, black plums, pepper, red plums And after a while rich dried smoked meats
Comments: Torbreck is what I remember, highly extracted, very vibrant, great acidity. the “Wood Cutters” is still living up to its name and last time I had this was probably the 2004-2006.
Pairing Suggestions: Throw a cow on the Barbie mate, add a little pepper a-little garlic a little butter= supper. 🇦🇺
Score in terms of Vintage: 89
    Score for the Wine: 90
Value for the Money: Very Good 😃 Best Buy

January 17, 2022 - Dry, full Bodied wine from ripe fruit with high acidity and tannins. Alcohol is high 15% and flavour intensity is pronounced but without enough complexity/elegancegiving. Flavours are cooked black fruit, plum and cherries, charred wood, tar, tobacco and chocolate. The finish is medium. Drink now but Will keep for a few more years.
