September 5, 2019 - Off the by the glass list at Armani restaurant in NYC. This is just really nice. and even better for the bottle price. It's got that nice crispness, a bit of sour cherry, a bit of almost iron to it. Not so complex or anything, but a good wine to have with food.

    April 28, 2019 - 14200 bottles produced
nose - cranberry, toasted orange peel , brandy
mouth - good stuffing but not really showing tonight. maybe needs time. the Sandrone '14 Valmaggiore which was consumed side by side was much more open and alluring. hold.

April 14, 2019 - Nose with ripe strawberries, some cranberries, some dried red berries, hints of truffle, and some flowery notes. Medium bodied with strawberries and cranberries including hints of bitter notes, good acidity. fine and pure berry notes, rather well integrated tannins, and a berry-dominated aftertaste. Drinks well now, will keep, 90 pts.

As is usually the case for Valmaggiore, this wine presents a rather soft and accessible version of Nebbiolo. I suppose the ripe vintage has helped this style further.

March 16, 2018 - Underbrush notes. Lacking any fruit. Drying finish, heat peaking out at the back end. Not terribly lively or exciting. Not much improvement day 2. For a higher end Nebbiolo d'Alba this didn't impress.
