June 17, 2019 - Father's Day treat with filet and seasoned mushrooms. Needed at least 3 hours to blow off unpleasant cedar, oak and pine resin elements. Then it suddenly flipped into a very sophisticated, nuanced wine that floated over your palate and ended with a beautiful but short-ish finish. Wonderful notes of coffee grinds, dark chocolate and red/black fruits. Similar nose. Really pretty and well made but not a blockbuster.

June 16, 2019 - The wine is purple. Blackberry, blueberry, fig and lead pencil shavings on the nose. The wine has a very polished texture. First time drinking this wine and I'm a fan.

March 22, 2019 - Tasted with Bevan at Brasswood. We had many great wines at Bevan and none that were not outstanding. The Vixen Block is an elegant wine with lots of dark fruits, blackberries, blueberries, and currants with chocolate, earthiness, and hints of floral and spice. Very well balanced, full bodied, complex, and a long finish.

October 27, 2018 - Matter of taste (London): Heavy nose of fruit, licorice and smoke. Oak comes through at this early stage of the wine which is clearly built to last decades. Very deep and rich. A blockbuster of a wine.

July 20, 2018 - Decanted and served. Pure, silky, delicious black fruit that I kept feeling was going to burst out with more air but we finished the bottle with the wine never quite escaping its restraints. Perhaps improvement will come with a bit of bottle age.
