February 3, 2019 - (Bottle 2/2) This Syrah Malbec mix gets better with age...really smooth right now.
There is a big nose of stewed blackberries, bergamot, honey & leather.
The palate is generous & long now, with ripe silky tannin- terrific use of blending Syrah & Malbec, IMHO. The wine's structure is ripe, but has firmness that will ensure drinking to 2020+.1 person found this helpful Comment -

November 17, 2018 - Dark purple. Red & dark ripe fruit, whiff of telltale Malbec latex. Well integrated tannins.

June 23, 2017 - Tasted at the winery - one word = WOW.
This gem is a thick, sweet, dense, overt affair, with pervading waves of charcoal smoke - 2015 was the big forest fire year, so... -, rich cassis, blackberry jam on a full palate, one that finishes with a bitter espresso twist. This wine is blended with splashes of viognier & gamay for extra complexities.
The structured palate carries concentrated blue and black fruits, fragrant violets, thorns and wild herbs, with fresh and brisk peppery acidity to carry.
Tannins are smooth and fine and the finish is lengthy, trailing off with white pepper.
An impressive, interesting, big dense wine that finishes with lively freshness. I am not sure it will last in the cellar.
