April 4, 2020 - Slow oxed for a few hours. Beautiful nose of blackberry and forest fruits. On the mouth it is lush and velvety, not overpowering but classically generous in an almost restrained way. A pleasure to drink.

January 24, 2020 - Last bottle in my cellar. Not sure if bottle was "fully" flawed, but seemed to me to be slightly corked. Did not get similar vibrant aromas as the first bottle a few months back, but seemed to open up a tiny bit over 3 hours.

December 20, 2019 - End of the work year celebration for me so opened up my first Amoenus. Pulled it straight from the cellar and even at 55deg this had lots of aromas of violet and blackberry jumping from the glass. Barely needed any opening up at all but as we drank it over 4 hours it became more soft and velvety. Medium to full bodied with blackberry, currant, plum and menthol on the finish. Fine and smooth tannins on a medium-long length finish with the menthol component becoming less pronounced over time. This is not an over the top decadent wine but classy and elegant and well balanced. Agree with the other scores of 95 but bumping it up a point to 96 for its balance and elegance.

August 18, 2019 - At Bazaar Meats. Decanted for 2 hours and another 2 in glass. What a wonderful wine. Was worried from previous reviewer but this was open for business and singing. Similar notes apply.

August 1, 2019 - Poured bottle into 4 glasses, sat for 1 hour before drinking, then drank over 2 more hours (my glass & wife's). Tight on nose and taste, smooth but fruit is hiding, wine a bit funky tonight. Maybe closed and best to leave alone for awhile. Not as good & bright as a bottle from 9 months ago. Update - last ounce at 5 hour mark was best - more noticeable dark berries fruit & smooth. HOLD or long decant.
