December 4, 2021 - Beautiful but not complex. Had with steak and chipotle lime smashed potatoes. Black cherries and licorice. Maybe more time for the next one? Decanted for 1-5-2 hours

September 9, 2021 - First M Etain and it made a really positive impression. Smooth and silky with a perfectly clean nose of cassis and a fullness on the palate that never got heavy at all. Judicious oak is well balanced with pure fruit, earth, and perfect acidity that really delivers through the lengthy finish. It's an elegant and well made Napa blend that hits all the right notes for me as I sip into the evening.

Decanted 4 hours but really it was drinking well after 30 minutes or so. The pure fruit and Rutherford dust are fully there right away at PnP.

August 26, 2021 - Blind tasting. No secret here. Everyone guessed Napa Cab except one left bank bordeaux. Good soil in an otherwise classic profile. Nice cassis fruit with some soil and oak. Very full bodied and could stand another 5 years in the cellar to evolve more. Needs 2-3 hours in decanter for it to start singing.

December 10, 2020 - Decanted about 45 minutes before dinner. First glass the most open with noticeable fruit nose and palate of red fruit, blue fruit, volcanic soil and chocolate with a medium finish. Second glass a little less hedonistic and some classier notes. Third glass grainy tannins emerged and fruit subsided to bell pepper. Very nicely done not the best Cab Merlot blend of all time but easy to drink if still a bit less polished than a 96-98 wine (but good QPR).

June 20, 2020 - One of my favorites, and certainly didn't disappoint in this vintage! Dark red and some black fruit; Rutherford Dust; what's not to love? Gave it a little time to breathe (probably 90 minutes) and it was rocking.

March 6, 2019 - Dy-no-MITE! This is just such terrific wine. Big and juicy but not over the top, just a really well made wine and — considering other wines that cost far more and deliver far less (most classified Bordeaux, for example) — this is still a good value. Though prices are going up, and that might not last much longer.

February 2, 2019 - Dark purple in the glass, showing off wonderful notes of black licorice, forest floor, blackberries, tobacco and tons of aromatic floral aromas. On the pallet, this wine is all about purity, focus and tension. It is medium to full bodied, with a tremendous silky mouthfeel showing great concentration; but totally elegant about it. This, like its big brother in a good vintage, shows some of the best overall balance and class you can find in Napa. The finish is super long. Drinking well now with a few hours in the decanter, but this will likely get better and have a long life. Best M Etain since the 2013 vintage, maybe best ever. 95+

January 31, 2019 - Popped this last evening to celebrate bringing in a new client, and while this showed well, it wasn't as good as I remembered from a month ago.

Glad that I checked in on this, but the rest are going to sleep for the next 2 years at a min...
