February 17, 2023 - Barnyard nose with crispy red fruit. Hint of sweetness on the palate but very light and frivolous. Still too young.

October 16, 2022 - Loved this. Sort of. Burgundy/ Sonoma coast hybrid. Touch of orange on the profile and good fruit but also a real earthy element.
On the finish in first hour or so, a slightly vegetal bitterness on the finish though that sounds worse that it actually was. A lovely decent depth wine. Very enjoyable. If you can buy it then give it a go.

April 17, 2021 - Burgundy-like, a real treat and surprise. Cherry, floral, spicy nose. MMMMmmmm!

October 22, 2020 - Lunch at Hua Yu Wee, courtesy of Chef D. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Took quite a long air time to finally open up convincingly.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, delicate earth, black cherries, sweet fragrant tea leaves. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), smooth medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, raspberries, sweet licorice, black tea leaves, stony minerality, earth dirt, light airy crushed stone dust notes. Long finish.
Very good quality. I was really guessing some very elegant CdP due to the inner fruit sweetness. Turns out to be Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. This has got to be the most atypically elegant version I have tried so far of this varietal. Great acidity too. Probably needs 2+ more years or some generous air-time to show.

Impressive classy red drinking v well at 5 yrs old. Proper VFM, too, RRP of £33.00....amd worth it. Well done, and rare, because many of the wines this day were bonkers over-priced and crap VFM.

    C....hint of brown

    N....toffee, caramel.

T....smooth wine, medium body, rich fruit with acid fading, I'd say (drink up!). Toffee apple.

    VFM?....Good. £33.00....worth it.
