October 7, 2021 - Really decent. Good finish. well balanced

    May 26, 2021 - First of 12 from a case purchased over 2 1/2 years ago.

Very dark purple and opaque in the glass. Aromas of saddle leather, menthol, graphite, and faint wild red berry are subtle but enticing.

In the mouth, dark red cherry fruit seems restrained and hiding something. Notes of sandlewood, earth, and Christmas spices emerge mid-palete and linger on the medium long finish balanced by refreshing acidity.

Overall, the wine seems young and shows good tension/structure for further development in the cellar. Even on Day 2, the wine barely moved and was still somewhat restrained, but certainly more open than on Day 1.

Next bottle in 2024, I suspect this wine will drink well between 2025-2030. Great QPR at $20 US

    September 11, 2020 - Drank over 2 days.

Didn’t give much on day 1 as it was quite disjointed and mess of flavors. It seems that the wine shutdown. It did show some glimpses by the last sips of the night, but for the most part, was unforgiving.

Day 2 was a different story. Everything came together for a nice experience. Red cherry and sour cherry up front with faint black cherry. Lavender, fennel, tobacco mixes in on the medium long finish.

Should be a really good Chianti in about 5 years with 10 years of age and should hold for another 5+. Needs food and a long decant right now.

February 12, 2020 - A nose of nice ripe cherry, fresh herbs with a hint of basil, and maybe a bit of rose petal. Felt lithe on the palate with the same notes as the nose -- nice acidity. Good purity, enjoyed this.

October 26, 2019 - Mr EdJ’s note is spot on. Quite good. Rich, bramble fruit, earthly with acidic backbone. Drinking well now but still on upslope of potentially. Good value. 14% abv.
