August 27, 2021 - Consistent with previous notes
April 23, 2021 - Yeah, solid for the price point, nothing to write home about
March 20, 2021 - Very good for the $88 I paid for it. Velvety and rich fruit with plenty of oak spice. A more modern wine that is very enjoyable.
September 10, 2020 - Flawed. Not sure what happened here, but the nose smells great, but taste is awful. Suppose it may been heat damaged since it was delivered in late July. Will reach out to Wine Access about this.
August 1, 2020 - Gritty tannins. Smooth and long finish. This wine will develop nicely over time. Dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry and kirsch. Has a little bit of heat on the finish.
July 5, 2020 - Dark ruby fruit - currants/cassis, blackberry, dark raspberry, and a little blueberry. Really smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration - medium plus body. Nice vibrant flavors of dark berries, some spice/licorice, and a mineral/graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for two hours and drank over a couple more. Improved with time but drinking well after the decant despite its youth. Drank next to the 2015 vintage which was better - bigger/fuller fruit. Nonetheless, the 2016 vintage is another nice vintage of this wine - no surprise of the 94 to 96 rating from WA and 95 rating from Dunnuck. As Kyle Janzen recently conveyed, the 2016 vintage is approachable young like the 2012 vintage which I can’t argue. 100% cab.
