January 7, 2024 - Followed a '16 Patrimony so tough competition. Somewhat coarse-grained tannins and decent acid level tell me this should stay in bottle for at least 5+ years more (2028); but a beautiful nose with freshness to the fruit and a deep brambly tone that shows this will develop well.
December 24, 2023 - Showing the best of a vertical tasting comprised of 08, 09, 16, 19. Enjoyable without a decant but we decanted for 3 hours, really a great wine
July 29, 2023 - Plenty of rich black fruits but also a good level of acidity and structure to keep it balanced and fresh. Full-bodied but not overdone and it finishes with smooth but not insignificant tannins and a nice mineral and floral lift. A hint of jam shows up with air that keeps a lid on the score for me but this is a somewhat less ripe and excellent vintage of Cardinale.
June 26, 2023 - Solid wine, but not a 95 pt wine. not very complex to be worthy of a 95. This is more of a 93. It is somewhat muted and flat and lacking in complexity, but solid. good drinking window now. Had 2 bottles of this now, once back in Fall of 2022. Both times, I'd rate it a 93 after trying 2 separate bottles at 2 different times. Solid wine, but it is not amazing.

A Chris Carpenter legendary vintage. My WOTN. Drank well right now but I must worn you this is built to improve so hold. The notes here on CT speak for themselves. Big Cali modern Cab !
September 26, 2022 - Pretty amazing stuff which is typical for Cardinale. I love this wine and have never been disappointed. The prototype for big, powerful, full bodied California cab so if you like that style, you'll love this.
March 24, 2022 - Sweet perfumed black cherry liquor aromas. Really beautiful . Dark brooding violet flavors, blend of all 4 mountains. Tastes like a symphony. Well balanced and refined. Nice dark fruits with good lift and well integrated tannins. Smooth and elegant.
February 6, 2022 - This wine was enjoyable tonight but acheived no level of greatness throughout an entire evening. Solid, but nothing Remarkable.

April 27, 2021 - Fresh dark fruits bouquet, inky purple red, smooth tannins, good depth, full body, excellent complexity, balanced, pretty acidity, long aftertaste.
March 11, 2021 - Very young and still absolutely amazing. Silky tannins, chocolate and just the right amount of acidity. I can’t wait to try this in 5 and 10 yrs. Party for 1, Halls chop House Summerville SC.
