April 12, 2024 - 60 minute decant. Nose of chocolate-covered cherries, thyme, and wet oak barrel. Rustic, chewy black cherry palate with graphite flecks, iron ore, and cherry acidity. Tannins still show some chew on the finish with clay, black plum, wet leaves, and lingering oak. Needs a couple more years in the bottle.

March 22, 2024 - Just not much nose and wine disappears on the back end. Decanted and resealed. Will try again on day #2 and hope for a better showing.

September 21, 2023 - Tasted November 2021. Very purple for a Napa cab, and a wine that takes on weight and depth the longer it is exposed to air. The nose is big and savory with tomato leaf, cigar tobacco, well-seasoned leather, blackberry, stewed blueberry, and plum. Medium plus in body with really sooth and fine tannin. The acid is well-tuned and integrated. Quite dense, but laser focused and silky. Mulled cherry/blackberry pie and a bit savory, it offers mountain strawberry, saline, tomato vine, and dried basil. Super tasty right now, but the layers need time to unravel. Incredibly only 13.1 ABV. I’d sit on this for five to seven years and then drink over the following ten.

May 25, 2023 - Consumed with Jay B at Django where bartender/som decanted it for us to great effect. Soft like a Pinot, with resolved tannins and long lingering flavor.

April 22, 2023 - Aromas of dark fruit with a hint of mint. On the palate, fruit forward, balanced acidity, and polished tannin. The finish is medium. This wine will continue to age beautifully and will benefit from more time.

January 30, 2023 - From 375, opened 1 hour before serving. Cassis, dark plums and berries, and some pleasant earth and undergrowth. Very soft tannins on the finish. 13.1% alcohol, which is perfect for us. My wife and I enjoyed this a lot! Would recommend with food, or even a chocolatey dessert.

January 25, 2023 - Typical of of California Cab. Two hrs of airing brought it up to prime. A little more acidic than I expected though. Should continue to improve over the next 5 yrs.

January 12, 2023 - Already delightful but still fairly tannic and young, even with an hour+ of decanting. Let it evolve for few more years.
