November 17, 2023 - The wine is medium ruby colored with garnet reflexes. On the nose there are pronounced aromas of dark cherries, strawberries, coffee, leather. little graphite. The acidity is high as well as the tannins are. The body is medium(+). On palate there flavors are similar to the nose with sour cherries in addition. The finish is long. This wine is in its drinking window with a few years ahead of it. Glass I used: Zalto Universal
September 10, 2023 - Bouquet fort agréable, sur un beau mélange de fruits foncé comme la cerise, les framboises & les mures. Les épices douves & l'anis s'entremêlent avec les fruits. Il y a une dimension sauvage agréable ainsi qu'elle fraîcheur apporté par des notes de cèdre. belle ensemble.
Bouche plutôt ronde en attaque, principalement sur le fruité foncé, l'anis & les épices vertes séchées. L'acidité est bien présente, contraste avec le corps de l'attaque, le finale est sur des beaux amers & les épices. Fort agréable!. Commence à s'adoucir.
October 7, 2022 - Much more impressed with this showing. A lovely sense of balance with real power and purity of ripe, sappy cherry fruit, with touches of violets and tobacco, wrapped in a pretty perfect structure of firm tannin and mouthwatering acidity. This was excellent and interesting to see this wine start to sing after a relatively humble start in life.
December 6, 2021 - Drank superbly with sirloin steak. Full on Chianti, but not too cherry dominated. Powerful wine, drinking all of its 14.5 degrees, but harmonious and smooth tannic structure.
October 31, 2021 - deep ruby colored / nose: intense, cherries, menthol, hay, leather, wood / palate: high acidity, high tannins, medium+ bodied, very good length, strawberries, cherries, oak / glass I used: Riedel Veritas Old Word Syrah / overall: This Vigna del Sorbo is at the very beginning of its drinking window. I have decanted it for 5 hours. The tannins are very present but ripe. I will wait to open the next bottle until they soften - at least until 2023. 9/10 (special plus for intensity an complexity)
July 23, 2021 - Appearance: pale garnet.
Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of cranberry, fresh strawberry, tomato leaf, red cherry, subtle earthy/farmyard, forest floor, rose water, red date, toast, sweet spices. It's developing.
Palate: dry, high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, medium plus finish.
Overall, it's a very good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing.
Beautiful red fruits on the nose with some tertiary notes starting to come through. The typical high acidity provides the backbone to the wine. Structural savoury tannins add to the complexity and guarantee a lot of years ahead. Perfect with Lonza!

November 2, 2020 - Italian lunch & blind tasting. Great Sangiovese nose here with red cherry jumping out of the glass, clay, earthy elements, sweet spices. Good acidity buffering the fruit and finishes very dry typical to this varietal. Nice.
August 28, 2020 - Définitivement un vin avec beaucoup de matière et une belle complexité. Je crois qu'il est arrivé a maturité, les tannins sont bien intégrés mais la structure est encore bien vivante.
