    June 23, 2017 - Ahhhh...what a quandry these wines produce.
What the heck are they ?
Maybe an American can tell me because as an Aussie I just find French wines...well.......bland.
I look at the number that is produced from this area and realise that most of them are junk.
This wine is made from 5 varieties!!! well that says it all, nothing distinct, nothing to compare it with and yet it's sitting there with a 95 point judgement a Platinum award from Decanter and The best Rhone under 15 pound.
All I can say is these judges need to get out more.
It has a lovely floral/fruity nose but the wine on the tongue is well........underwhelming .
A blend of Grenache Blanc. Voigner,Clairette,Rousanne,Bourboulenc.
It is to be judged as a white blend .
I have to say the Viognier gives this wine most of its notes, take that out and I am not sure what you end up with.
As an Australian I am used to gutsy wines of depth and character, not these French lolly water varieties.

Still it is a sound wine, easy to drink, lacking depth but okay .
Maybe Iwas a little harsh on this wine.
At my second bottle I have given it an extra point.
This nose is very fruity like bolied lollies with a lot of musk perfume.
The taste on the tongue is still a short finish but there is some fruit there, soft and drinkable .
I put this down to the fact i left the chill off the wine and let it sit at room temperature after about 30 minutes .
I think this is the way this wine should be served.
it always amazes me in restaurants when you order a bottle of wine they stick it in the ice bucket, I pull it out, next glass, they stick it back in.
At this point I usually say, please leave it on the table forget about that Ice Age thingy.
the more I taste the more I like very highly perfumed nose.
