August 14, 2021 - This surprised me as the nose and palate were rather disjointed. The nose was of a beautiful ripeness, blood orange, pomegranate, pomelo peel. Very orange-y. However the palate was somewhat austere, mono dimensional, with a somewhat long-ish finish but with a flat trajectory. Bottle aired for 90 mins before drinking. May perform better as a PnP.

    June 21, 2021 - dsg 05/2017. Edition of 1848 bottles.

100% Chardonnay from a cuvée that has unfortunately disappeared from the estate's range.

Ethereal effervescence and a pretty nose of noble Chardonnay: butter, almonds, ripe fruit and lots of salinity.

On the palate, the texture is beautifully creamy. The balance is perfect, the juice unfolds on its own on a nice acidity, delivering aromas of peach and apricot on a hint of curry. The freshness gives a nice length to this already complex and layered wine. It's silky, almost like glycerin but voluptuous at the same time, with this peach / apricot / sweet spice mix and a fine oxidative touch. The finish is superb, on mineral salts and chalk, it lines everything it touches, with great length.

A great champagne for me, which reminds me of the Krug. Marguet ... This is an estate to follow, everything I have tasted at this estate was in no way inferior to Selosse.

September 21, 2020 - Last night's bottle had the February 2018 disgorge date. !005 Chard, no dose. Crispy pear, apple, grapefruit and a in the finish that is refreshing and clean. Beautiful fruit here which for me is again yet another vote for the beauty of the 2012 Marguet wines. This bottle drank very well.

This was definitely one of the best bottles of Marguet we’ve drunk so far. Right from the start, an incredibly generous, umami-like nose: cacao butter, coconut, peanuts, sea salt, butter cookies, fresh butter and milk, young cheese, and yogurt (creamy, not acidic); strong presence of ripe fruits, predominantly citric and stone varieties: tangerines, peaches, apricots, and some sweet grapefruit; throughout the bottle we appreciated some fresh truffles and mushrooms in an early stage of evolution, and light spices such as pepper and burning firewood; typical Côte des Blancs minerality with chalk, wet stones, and slight herbal touch of tarragon that remains in the palate.
A memorable and uncommon bottle of Marguet; the 2012 of this cuvée will continue to age wonderfully for at least 5 years. The bubbles were silky and delicate on the palate, and the texture was dense but also somehow glyceric. Despite being a brut nature, there is no austerity at all; the complexity and the structure is there. Delicious!

May 18, 2020 - Bone dry. Burnt lemon, chive, salt and pepper. Toasted almond finish. Incredible balance, amazingly crisp. Just a fantastic bottle
