February 1, 2023 - Heavy oak influence on this bottle, but it works for me. We’ve had several of the 2016 and it seems to be in a good place right now.

January 27, 2023 - Dark ruby in the glass. Blackberry, slate, and spearmint on the nose. Dry, tart, powdery tannins, and medium acidity. Lighter berry flavours, maybe a little vanilla and pepper. Overall a nicely balanced, full-bodied wine.

December 30, 2022 - Opaque, deep, garnet in color. Blackberry, raspberry, cola, licorice, mint and a hint of oak on the finish. Medium acidity. Full bodied with ample tannins. Surprised at how well this is performing right now but still several years of improvement expected.

December 10, 2022 - Ten Years On - 2012 Cabernet Sauvignons (Canoehead Central): This was used as calibration wine ahead of a double-decanted blind tasting of eight 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Has the colour, aroma profile and classic dark red flavours of a Cabernet. Obviously lacked the aged factor of the 2012s but a good baseline. Good utility shortstop. Weeknight warrior.
