September 28, 2019 - Only had 30 min a decant. Big and bold, dark fruit, licorice, cola, oak. Got better with time. Probably could have used a few hours of air, but still an amazing wine.

September 1, 2019 - Opened by mi amigo, HowellMountainCru following the '13 Darioush. Very different of course. This has a whole different level of intensity. Loads of jammy over the top blueberry up front on the nose and in the mouth. Silky smooth and soft almost to the point of 'where's the acidity?' Seems very good but just a tad one dimensional at this point, but alas, I am splitting hairs here a bit. This has not yet closed down or 'backed up' as some '16s from Napa have. Will be interesting to see where this is in a year or two......

September 1, 2019 - Fruit forward, totally integrated, amazingly soft but powerful wine. Just a different experience relative to a excellent 2013 Dariouch and good 2016 Schrader Double Diamond we drank next to it.

Soft floral purple flower and berry aroma. PNP - The taste was slightly jammy at first moving toward saturated blackberry and blueberry. Definite cocoa note as well. I can't overstate the softness and integration of this wine. It was soft in the mouth and had glide and finish that was just over the top.

An easy 96 for me and maybe a little a little higher.

August 18, 2019 - A Cabernet that is locked and loaded with brooding ripe dark ripe black and blueberry black cherry, plum black licorice, bittersweet coco, tar/ minerality. The fruit extraction is amazing (nearly over the top) with a strong Cabernet fruit driven nose. This is a jam packed wine with everything in it (wine wise) but the kitchen sink..... but I really like it!
97-98 Points and tasted next to the Carter O.G. - That is not advisable in my opinion. This is a stand alone wine that should be enjoyed all by itself and I probably would have given it a better score.

July 15, 2019 - Drank too young -- even with an hour in the decanter and slowly enjoyed in very large fine glasses, it never really opened up nor offered much fruit. You can easily tell that all the right stuff is there. Loads of chocolate, coffee and "dirt" greet you upon entry and never let you go. Tons of minerality and fine but gripping tannins coat your mouth on the finish. An amazing QPR for the release price.
