February 20, 2022 - 8/2/2019, First bottle.... dark garnet color, ripe berries, oak, vanilla a classic cab, lush mouth filling. Hits all the right notes, will last 5 to 10 years.
2/19/2020..while the color and nose are superb, with notes of oak, vanilla and dark fruit, the mouth feel is less filling than expected. This is not up to the 2017 BERINGER PRIVATE RES, tasted at same time. I expected more, (this was the 1st bottle of the 2 tasted), but given its age, I thought it would edge out the 2017.
It's just not as lush, and the finish is shorter, thinner. I now think the QPR is not quite there, though it is STILL an excellent wine. I have 1 left, will wait to taste.

November 12, 2021 - Good but not great. QPR is terrible for $125. Only had one bottle cellared and after drinking it's not making me wish I had more. Nose was typical stags leap. On the palette good entry soft, black and blue fruits but not much in the back. I can think of 5 other wines that would blow this away at the same price or slightly less.

August 22, 2021 - Beautiful dark ruby color, pleasant nose...very smooth and drinking exceptionally well at this point. (Paired with flank steak, and we enjoyed very much)

May 24, 2021 - Bright blueberry jam fruit. An excellent Stag’s cab, but a little pricey for what you get.

January 18, 2021 - Smooth and complex with great structure and flavors. I'm enjoying this now but not sure I'd enjoy this with more age or not.

Color is a deep ruby. Pronounced aromas of blueberry pie, blackberry jam, ripe black plums, and medicinal herbs underscored by vanilla, clove, cola, graphite, and granite rocks.
Body is med(+) with a bit more dark red fruit characteristics showing. Mouthwatering acidity(high) and med(+) velvety tannins. Med(+) flavor intensity with notes of black cherry jam, blueberry juice, black currant, milk chocolate with coffee, and nutmeg.
    Long smooth finish.

    30 min decant/open will help.

    December 19, 2020 - Super good, still drinking young. You’ll know it’s a Stag’s Leap cab.

February 26, 2020 - 1st winery in the Stags Leap District. Medium nose shows black plum, graphite, black pepper, black tar, baking spice. Palate much more expressive, layers of black fruit, sweet spice, plums, cedar, fresh earth undertones. Still drinking young, structure is smooth though, so not tight. A little bit pricey but it's does drink highly pedigreed.

February 26, 2020 - Rich black fruits atop a structured core, this is drinking well now but should continue to age several more years.
