    November 18, 2022 - Fabulous rich sumptuous wine with a long finish. Lots of dark fruit with pepper and leather.

    November 27, 2021 - Berry blast on the nose, followed by some menthol and leather. Super delicious on the palate. Spice on the finish. We followed the winery's aging notes to open this one now, waiting for the 2012 to open later. Very impressive wine.

    PnP as I suspected the relatives [HUGE Bien Nacido fans] would take several days to finish it. They did, however, seem to be QUITE pleased with the wine! 👍 🙂

    April 15, 2021 - Closed in this tasting, in spite of a decant. Couldn’t pull much out of it.

    ≈95 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed; NO visible sediment; Private Preserve after Day 1

    N: Minerals, poss earth, slightly atop plums with notes of blk pepper;

    P: Med, *poss* LM body; RNDISH entry with very NICE, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it seamlessly evolves into a LONG, beautifully BALANCED finish with nothing even a smidgen out of place! :) This wine's acidity > its innocuous tannins make it a star @ the table, tonight it being with revisited Smkd BBQ Chx, one relative feeling it would do well with full on BBQ (i.e., Pork/Beef) as well. For now & at least through '24, given the balance & acidity.
    // Day 2: Aromatically, blk pepper with some spice & creamy notes, P very ≈ with firmness on the mid-P & into the finish, though it does pretty much resolve... ult. Surprisingly, while adequate, 'twas NOT a match I'd want to repeat with the night's revisited Stuffed Pizza/Marinara (Chicago Style). In short, since this held < well than I'd anticipated, & struggled with Day 2's entrée, my EXC-/EXC *is* < it would have been solely after Day 1, & I'm now thinking it's best to consume this by '23, though my bottles HAVE had < "ideal" storage. 13% ABV; [As of late Sept '20, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $41].

    Note: Also tasted on 11/3 & 12/15/18, the last one being > along the lines of what this bottle showed on Day 1
