November 4, 2019 - Very, very good. Leather notes, smoky, nice nose, medium finish; right time to drink.

June 27, 2019 - From magnum. Dark, hints of discolouration. Bramble, cherries, spices, cured meat, eucalyptus on the nose. On the palate good acidity, soft tannins, good concentration, but not heavy. Fine length. Drink or keep. 91-93

May 11, 2019 - Holy hell this is good right now. Eucalyptus is present but not overwhelming. Rich, mature, yum yum yum.

May 4, 2019 - 16 year old Shiraz from McLaren Vale, still powerful but oak is finally integrated, lovely deep red fruit up front, acidity/tannis on the mid-palate, all in great balance, long, lovely finish. 30 mins of air and still evolving well, so well made, wine is in its prime, suspect at least 3-4 more years before it starts a decline. I’ve had a number of older Shiraz recently from this time period and most do not hold up well, but this one is a great example of one that just got better.

(d'Arenberg Shiraz The Dead Arm) Group's #1 (my #6) – 35 pts; 3 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 third, 1 last place – deep black red violet color; sweet roasted meat nose; plush, concentrated berry and plum palate, tangy, tight yet; medium-plus finish (improves and opens a lot after 45 minutes in the glass)
