March 28, 2024 - [Double decanted for 4 hours at 1pm.] Big spicy red fruit and licorice nose. Big in the mouth but balanced. Lovely. Could use more time.

March 28, 2024 - WCC Syrah from around the world tasting (Clifton Park, NY): Came across relatively one-note with lots of black fruit, though I also didn't spend a lot of time on this - found a couple of the other wines in the flight more interesting and also kept going back to my pours from the previous flight, while this didn't really hold my interest.

March 2, 2024 - Nose of leather and chocolate mint. Rich mouth. Finishes with cherry liquor filled chocolates, but in a good way. Not at all over the top, restrained and well balanced. Steve's favorite wine from my cellar. Rest in peace.

February 24, 2024 - OK 98 from Parker maybe too much, but this is still a very good wine. I like the aussie shiraz and this one is very good. More than 20 yrs but this is still in good shape for many more years

October 24, 2023 - Tasted this at Yummy Palace over dinner with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines that start with the letter V.

Purplish-red in colour. Wine still holding out very nicely after 22 years: notes of ripe red fruits balanced with elegance and subtle hint of power. At this level of maturity, do not expect the wine to dance effortlessly around the tongue and palate; instead, expect an intimate and intense conversation between the soul and (wine) maker.

It's always an experience to drink fine wines crafted with finesse and excellence. It's always an enjoyable ride to drink aged fine wines in the company of good food and friends.
