April 6, 2023 - This was opened at 3pm and by dinner was so ready. This was sapid and delicious. Tonight it was the wine of the night, ravishing, complete and long.

March 27, 2023 - A private dinner (Restaurant Schwarzer Adler *, Oberbergen, Germany): Bottle No. 01189 / 5.047 bottles produced. Not decanted, opened two hours in advance. No frost damage. Mind blowing. Intoxicating nose, enveloping complexity and depth, orange zest, salt, Islay malt, sweet spices, a panoply of aromas, a core of fleshy, fruity depth surrounded by the “floral lift of the first day of spring” (thank you Elizabeth); the palate is rich and creamy, silky and elegant, smoky and sweet, powerful and structured and effortlessly flowing into the almost neverending finish. A dreamy wine. Transcends its terroir – or at least as we know it?

December 21, 2021 - Is DRC Corton better than Ech? Is that crazy to say? At least in its youth. Feel like Ech is always marred by oak when young but these Cortons have all been brilliant pure fruited and spice laden wine. The 2016 is still approachable after a few years - there's an elegance to its purity and expression. Softer than i expected for the vintage though. I do find it interesting that of all the producers that make Corton, DRC makes the least structured. Probably a good thing. Don't remember how many times I've said "damn I wish this Corton would age longer" lol

June 13, 2020 - Transparent rød med lilla/rosaskjær. Pnp. Helt åpen. Fantastisk flott og karismatisk nese med rød, krydret frukt med en utrolig flott eik. Hadde definitivt havnet i Vosne blindt her. Sinnsykt bra kons i munn. Sødmefull men behersket frukt, fantastisk krydet, sammenblandet med en nydelig friskhet. Smertefull balanse og lang lengde.

October 23, 2019 - Part of a 2016 DRC tasting, a vintage that impressed with how approachable it already was, purity, elegance and versatility. For me, the La Tâche scored best, followed by Richebourg and Romanée-Conti – although the latter may well surpass the La Tâche in the long run. Corton came in last. Montrachet, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux were not produced commercially that year and older vintages offered instead.

A slightly sweeter, but also lighter fruit when compared to the others. Fresh herbal notes, but on average a bit too green. A slightly more narrow aromatic profile, but the sweetness was be alluring, almost sexy. Fewer dimensions on the palate with a less refined texture vs the others.
