May 10, 2019 - This was an absolute stunner. Mesmerising bouquet of intense dark elegant fruit wrapped in a layer of juniper sap and white pepper. Minerals mixed with sweet spices and lightly roasted SL 28&34 coffee beans (to be specific). Huge concentrated palate of pure raspberry, perfect balance and structure. A minty whiff and super long finish with fruit and integrated oak.

April 27, 2019 - Not as big a fan of the Liger-Belair villages, at least this vintage. Thought both this and the CdC showed a bit too “Californiacated” and like deeply fruited and somewhat alcoholic Santa Barbara Pinot.

  • Alex G. Likes this wine:

April 27, 2019 - Liger Belair Dinner: Acidity is more prominent here too than the 1ers, albeit not as much as Clos du Chateau. In time, this became more savory and complete. Interesting that the Villages wines were less approachable than the 1ers today, but of the 2 Villages this was the more enjoyable wine today.

March 9, 2019 - La Paulée de NY Grand Tasting (Pier 60 - NYC): Exuberant spice and black cherry nose. Plush, ripe mouthfeel with very good spice intensity for a Village wine. 91+
