September 1, 2023 - Unfortunately the oak was alittle too overwhelming for me. Although this has some of the classic Rousseau style the vintage and lack a grapes created a wine with more oak than usual so the oak is more prominent in this vintage compared to others.

August 25, 2023 - Gevrey Masterclass @Sommcellars. Pure and airy scents of red berries and spices, red fruited then beautifully textured, powerful in a deceptively light frame, ending in a very long, minerally inflected finish that saturates the buds. Compared to all the other wines, this has absolutely no sucrosity, near perfect purity and balance. Needs to snooze a dozen years in the cellar, this is a beauty. WOTN for me.
