April 11, 2023 - Solid wine and, given its modest price, nearing bargain territory. Sweet red cherry lozenge flavors up front, lively acidity and quite a remarkable depth of flavor carried into a lengthy 30+ second finish. A good mid-week drink with overripe raspberry, spice and notes of both old and new wood.

September 23, 2022 - Deep garnet, some brown ring, medium legs, some translucent. Vanilla, oak, red fruit, some dried cherry, some plum, caramel, some spices, some dried herbs, a little bit smoky. On the palate, cherry, raspberry, some plum, dark fruit, licorice, spices, some wet floor, medium high acidity, grip tannic, medium body, long finish, a little lack of fruit concentration. Still very young and complex for 10 year old crianza. Good for the value.

August 20, 2022 - was surprised to see 2012 at costco in 2022 for $13. A little musty when first opened after 30 mins wine cleaned up. pretty bright for older wine. good value

January 17, 2021 - Vanilla on the nose. Black cherry, like cherry vanilla. Tasting panel was really digging this one. We thought this wine was good for sipping, as well as being good with the beef stew. If you have food, the Altos Ibericos is your wine! But this wine was quite versatile.

March 31, 2020 - Prototypical bouquet of fruit, lumber, and earth. Concentrated, bold, and well rounded. It over delivers at the price point.

May 24, 2019 - We tasted this at Esquin at Seattle and really enjoyed this Rioja. It did show signs of seepage under the capsule. The bottle we took home must have been flawed. If I was blind tasting, I would have guessed it to be port. Strong notes of chocolate, raisin, currant, and caramel both on the nose and palate. Would love it as a port, do not like it for dinner.
