May 26, 2023 - Made from 100% single vineyard Riesling; disgorged October 2020. Surprisingly, I liked this slightly better than the single vintage, same vineyard, 2015 Immich-Anker Enkircher Zeppwingert Riesling Sekt brut nature, which I’ve enjoyed on a number of prior occasions: more persistent effervescence; a more expressive aromatic and flavor profile showing slate minerality, ripe apricot, juicy pear, pink grapefruit and grilled herbs; and a less lean, richer mouthfeel. Medium plus acidity provides balance to the ripe fruits and sets up a medium plus, long finish. Drink this disgorgement through 2024. Very good for this class and style.

January 1, 2023 - Good but gassy. A light, refreshing alternative to Champagne. Pear, citrus, floral notes, with a honey finish.

April 22, 2022 - What an enigma! In open this was tight and harsh but over the course of two weeks — really — under a champagne stopper in the fridge this got better and better. I’d start it at an 88 and move it to a 93 over that time. Remarkable!
