Community Tasting Notes 28

March 5, 2012 - An agreeable wine. Some depth to it, though you have to concentrate and really quiz your tastebuds, otherwise it just becomes a smooth sipping wine.

Robust color, slight clear rim, alcohol wafts onto the nose with scents of possibly blueberry (not sure about that).

Bottle notes say ‘may also be cellared for 5 to 6 years’ – so since it’s now 11 years old that might suggest it’s too old. But I feel it’s still got some life in it, a bit of vitality. I’ll look forward to my next bottles of this over the coming months.

A solid, pleasing bottle. Not something to really write home about, but very satisfactory nonetheless.

December 17, 2010 - Nice Aussie red. Smooth, well structured. Tannins are balanced. Nose is full of big red fruit. Hints of spice on the mid palate and finished holds up. This was the first bottle of the night with an 04 Penfolds 407.

November 7, 2010 - Nice purple color, nose of pepper and blackberry, with note of sour cherry and i tasted some saltiness this time too but all in all it is nicely integrated with good tannins and an oaky finish

July 19, 2010 - Tart, sour cherry defintely present. If you like a dry, tart wine....this is it.
