May 1, 2017 - Alex's MNSC (The Pawn): 5hr decant. ridiculously thick, jammy and sweet. is this wine or syrup??
not my style but some might like it. indistinguishable from the 98 and 96 side by side.

June 17, 2011 - Great Grapes for a Great Cause SQN Tasting -- 4th Annual; 6/17/2011-6/18/2011 (Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC): not sure i get the hype on this wine. lots of tasty fruit. a little heat, but the lack of integration with the oak was the biggest drawback for me. medium finish. should be drinking well 10 yrs out. was still very primary, but not sure where this will go.

December 12, 2009 - This wine is like port, heavy nose of sth sweet, too sweet, Chinese syrup. Big and full-bodied, salty, ugly wine indeed. Powerful aftertaste. I still wonder this wine was made for what.

I think I can make a wine like this. High alcohol, dark colour, dense and dull.

ps. 2003 tasting together is better feeling but 18.5% : BBP ( better buy port ) MMC ( much more cheap ) AMD ( and more delicious )

January 1, 2009 - Deep, dark, opaque ruby. A wow, stop you in your tracks nose. Rich, creamy, toasty black fruit and asphalt. Explosive palate bursts with flavor and richness of fruit and somehow maintains balance, poise and brightness. Crazy long, endless finish. What a memorable wine!

January 1, 2009 - Wineflock - Wow wines (Nanda's): Group #2, My #4 - Opaque soft red with a hint of crimson. Huge forward red cassis nose with tons of black spice - very ripe. Big supperipe black fruit liqueur on the palate with plenty of tar and coffee on the long finish. Good acidity and balance for the ripeness level. 94-95 pts.
