October 22, 2018 - A beguilingly complex and alluring nose I can remember a day later: Pinot fruit, violet, caramel-ly brown spice, and a hint of sous bois and oak. The palate follows logically from the nose with sweet cherry and blueberry alongside lifted florals and a line of minerality from first sip to finish. Nicely balanced, with everything in its place, with a lovely transparency and lightness that give lie to any corresponding lack of depth as this has impressive intensity and persistence. The 2002 Les Amoureuses is excellent and easily the finest Groffier I have ever enjoyed. Perfect now.

April 17, 2018 - At Acker's Wine Workshop Chambolle-Musigny Terroir Tasting at the Michaelangelo NY. Now we're talking. Haunting perfume. Red fruit, caramel, wood. Stunning. 94+

April 11, 2018 - I really enjoyed this. It is in a good place now but clearly can go several more years. Smokey and sweet, good depth of savory tones balancing it out the red fruit. Many at the tasting commented that this didn't really give an impression of the true of terroir of Amoureuses. That may be true, but I would love to drink this wine any day.

April 10, 2018 - This is a huge nose that is notably different from any of the other Chambolles tonight (including an ‘08 Drouhin Amoureuses) in that is has considerable earth influence and a bit of wild animal character to the light strawberry and red cherry fruit. This is very sexy and inviting. Palate is both sweet and savoury but is slightly less exciting than the fantastic nose promises. The ripeness and maturity of the fruit suggests this is actually near peak performance.

March 10, 2018 - {Bought on release, perfect fill, PopNPour drunk over 1.5 with LT, BW and JL} Still ruby, nicely scented and very Pinote, starts with medium weight and very good length... over 1.5 hours gained complexity, that ineffable Amoureuses intoxicating scent, and layers and layers of complexity on the palate and finish, both of which deepened and lengthened. The Groffier oaking was fairly well tamed at this point. No rush to drink this wine, and if you do, decant! This was a 92 point wine for most of the time but then was hitting the 94-95 register as we finished, so ... decant, decant, decant.
