P: Med-Full body, med tannins, fresh acidity on the higher side, Oak and Cherries, long finish
Summary: Smooth Rioja on the better side. Maybe lack something in the mid palete, has a remaining sweetness in the finish

Very enjoyable now, has it’s peak soon.
Bouquet black currant, leather and tobacco.
Palate good balance with nice acidity, leather and black currant again, elegant but a little bit thin though.
Finish medium to long
June 29, 2021 - Only a brief note - but this 2013 Rioja has (against my expectation) improved each time I have broached a bottle. Really mellow; integrated oak with brulé dark hedge fruit. A regular gift from our radio hams who use our land high up on the North Downs.
For drinking over the next couple of years.
September 5, 2020 - This was a hasty choice, no time to decant/open early as many suggested. Finished the second half on the following night, made a huge difference.

September 24, 2019 - From 75cl, good cork, opened but not decanted 2 hours. Well-made commercial Rioja, nice'n fruity, more new-style than old, hefty oak, but made for early drinking. It is what it is. 86P
